Luau Backend Engineer (Roblox Games)

Server-side Luau gameplay programming for arbastro games — economy, persistence, replication, networking.
What you'll do
- •Build server-side gameplay systems for Expedition Rubasa, Pirate Wars, City Sim: Mayor Tycoon, Cole’s Diner, and new titles
- •Own datastore design, save/load, anti-data-loss patterns, soft-deletes for currency disputes
- •Network gameplay state efficiently — minimal bandwidth, correct replication boundaries
- •Collaborate with Luau Frontend / VFX Artist on the client side of every feature
- •Coordinate with Anti-Cheat Engineer on exploit detection + server-side validation
Requirements
- •2+ years Luau on Roblox — DataStoreService, ProfileStore/ProfileService, ReplicatedStorage patterns, RemoteEvents/RemoteFunctions
- •Comfortable with secure server-authoritative design (never trust the client)
- •Familiar with rate-limiting, anti-exploit basics, and Roblox’s newer APIs (MemoryStore, MessagingService, OpenCloud)
- •Bonus: experience with Knit, Roact-net, or Rojo
- •Bonus: worked on Roblox titles with sustained 100+ CCU
